Topical CoQ10-containing formulas have been reported to increase skin Q10 levels and provide antioxidative effects, while clinical/review evidence supports its use for reducing visible wrinkle depth and improving aging-related skin appearance.
Because CoQ10 has very low water solubility, poor skin permeability, and light sensitivity, it is best formulated in lipid systems, emulsions, nanoemulsions, liposomes, transfersomes, or other carrier systems to improve delivery and stability.
