Used in skincare as a soothing, moisturizing, barrier-support, and repair-oriented active for sensitive, dry, irritated, or post-treatment skin. Scientific reviews report that β-glucans support wound repair by enhancing macrophage activity, granulation, collagen deposition, and re-epithelialization, while newer skin-care literature also links oat β-glucan with improved epidermal differentiation, cell–cell junctions, and lipid synthesis. For cosmetic applications, it is suitable for repair creams, calming serums, moisturizing masks, anti-redness formulas, post-procedure care, and anti-aging products; in a 27-subject clinical study, topical oat β-glucan used for 8 weeks reduced wrinkle height/depth and skin roughness.
